About metar.cloud
Hey there, fellow aviation enthusiast!
Welcome to metar.cloud — a little project born out of pure love for flying and the sky above us.
The Story
I'm Artur, a developer and private pilot based in Europe. Like many pilots, I've spent countless hours checking weather before flights, scrolling through various apps and websites, trying to piece together the full picture. I wanted something that felt simple, clean, and just worked — so I built it.
metar.cloud started as a weekend project that quickly grew into something I'm genuinely proud of. Every feature, every design decision comes from real flying experience and a genuine passion for aviation.
What We Do
At its core, metar.cloud provides real-time METAR and TAF data combined with airport information. But it's more than just raw data — it's about presenting aviation weather in a way that actually makes sense at a glance. Wind direction relative to runways, flight categories, forecasts... all the things pilots actually care about.
The data comes from trusted public sources:
Weather data from Aviation Weather Center (NOAA)
Airport & runway info from OurAirports
A Passion Project
This isn't a big company or a venture-backed startup. It's just me, my passion for aviation, and probably too much coffee. I build this in my spare time because I genuinely enjoy it and because I think the aviation community deserves nice tools.
